Widths are measured in pixels, the way Google truncates. Limits are approximate: Google rewrites some titles and descriptions.
From result to action.
Lead with the service and place
“Emergency Plumber in Parramatta” matches how people search. Brand goes last.
Give a reason to click
Speed, price clarity, licences and review count win clicks over generic claims.

Use Search Console’s URL Inspection, then compare clicks before and after.
What’s the ideal title length?
Aim for about 50–60 characters, or under roughly 600 pixels on desktop. Wide letters like W and M take more space than i and l, which is why we measure pixels.
Why did Google change my title?
Google rewrites titles when it thinks another version better matches the page or the query. Clear, accurate titles that match your H1 get rewritten less.
Does the meta description affect rankings?
Not directly. It affects whether people click, and more clicks from the same rankings means more customers.
Will FAQ schema add questions under my result?
No longer. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results for all sites in 2026. FAQ sections still help visitors and AI answers understand the page, so keep them for people, not for extra space in the results.
Keep going.
